JOHN WAS BORN IN COATDYKE. HE MET AND MARRIED HIS WIFE HELEN AITCHISON WHO PASSED AWAY ON 15
SEPTEMBER 1998. THEY WERE MARRIED IN ALL SAINTS CHURCH COATDYKE ON 31 DECEMBER 1941 THEY REMAINED
VERY HAPPILY MARRIED UNTIL HER DEATH.. HE WAS A LOVING DAD GRANDDAD AND GREAT GRANDAD WHO ENJOYED A
FULL AND ACTIVE LIFE UNTIL THREE WEEKS BEFORE HIS DEATH. HE WAS RENOWNED FOR HIS SINGING AND SOUP
MAKING AND WAS ALWAYS ASKED TO MAKE THE FAMILY POT OF SOUP FOR CHRISTMAS. BOTH HE AND HELEN WERE
VERY FAMILY ORIENTATED AND INSTILLED THIS INTO THEIR SIX CHILDREN BETTY WHO PASSED AWAY ON THE 17th
AUGUST 2006 ANNE JACK DANIEL TRICIA AND EILEEN. THEY ARE SADLY MISSED.

for we had a special bond, my angel and me.
I love my angel with all my heart.
But I've been so sad since we had to part.
